Unfortunately, the backwards state of Arizona won't allow Northern Spy's into the state - some garbage about they have to be refrigerated for 30 days first. So those who want to use them have to arrange for them to be smuggled like drugs into the state. Many have relatives that transship them to them or they arrange for them to be shipped to neighboring states and make the long drive to bring them into the state. Bringing in 26 apples once cost me $78! but it sure was worth it when the pies were made.
