There were too many posts for me to see if anyone mentioned Braeburn apples. I got the idea to use them for baking a long time ago. It's a great apple! Meets in the middle of not too mushy and not too crisp. I live in the South now, originally from Chicago where my apple pies came from the store, lol. I didn't know any better. However I've been making an "apple slices" pie with Braeburn and I love them!
