I have lived for over 30 years now on an acre of land that was once part of a huge apple orchard in the late 1800's. We had 4 apple trees on our land, 3 fell right away, from rotting but one lasted until 2016 while giving many apples every other year. My older neighbor who lived here since the 1940's told me they were "Grime's Golden". They made the absolute best jelly, tasted like pie! Anyone familiar with this type? I tried to have grafted branches made to plant, didn't work and alas that tree is gone.
