Great question, Lisa! According to PJ, crinkles should be rolled in sugar before baking, for the best "cratered" look. The sugar might get slightly absorbed into the cookies as they thaw, but it shouldn't disappear entirely. Also, you could try shaking the cookies in sugar afterwords, though you won't get as defined a pattern (no cracks or crevasses). As for sugar cookies with sanding sugar - it should hold up well through thawing, so feel free to roll these kinds of cookies in sugar before baking/freezing. Kye@KAF
