Hi, Christine. If you're using unsalted butter, it's possible another quarter teaspoon of salt may give you the flavor boost you're looking for. You might also try a batch with a tablespoon of sugar added to the dry, or perhaps a tablespoon of honey mixed in with the buttermilk.
