Hi Tass, we've found that the best way to ensure your brownies have a shiny crust is to include chocolate chips in the batter. If you've tried including chips and you're still not getting a shiny crust, you might want to try heating the butter and sugar together until the sugar dissolves before adding the rest of the ingredients.
