We're not sure what went wrong either, Chloe but it sounds like your 9" rounds were not quite deep enough. Sometimes cake rounds are 1.5" deep while others are 2" deep. You guessed right: this recipe needs the full 2" rounds. With a bit of trimming, we bet you'll be able to spruce up this cake and make it still taste delicious. If all else fails, cover it in the whipped cream and strawberries and it will please all!
