You're welcome to use the discard in a recipe that calls for unfed starter like crackers or pancakes, but it won't have much flavor. Since you'll have the gift of a plethora of starter in the coming weeks, you might just want to toss the first discard and wait until it will deliver more flavorful results. Kye@KAF
