Thanks for checking out this article, M.T. You're welcome to include 1/3 cup of sour cream into your pound cake recipe if you'd like. In fact, many of our pound cake recipes already call for it as an ingredient. Because hand mixers vary in their speeds, it's difficult to give one hard and fast rule to apply to any machine and any recipe. The best thing to do will to be to experiment creaming butter and sugar until you reach the results shown in the photos of this article. Then, write down the speed and mixing time on your recipe card so you'll have the information for next time. Happy baking! Annabelle@KAF
