Hi Carol, whole wheat flour does ferment a bit faster than white flour, so it makes sense that the rise times are a little shorter for the Whole Wheat Cycle. I encourage you to give it a try and see how it goes. Our Whole Wheat Bread for the Bread Machine recipe suggests using this cycle, if it's available on your bread machine.
