Hi Paul, do you think all our caramel-making mothers are up in heaven watching us and smiling as we continue to fill their pots with caramels? I like to think my mom is happy to see so many folks embracing this tradition. I love your suggestions, although I must admit I do cling rather stubbornly to my mother's methods. It is a tradition, after all! I did try a chocolate caramel recipe this year, with mixed success, so who knows, I might get adventurous one of these days. Barb
