Barbara, I never post comments on recipes, ESPECIALLY before trying them. However, your story brought tears to my eyes as it so reminded me of my dear mother, an Iowa farm wife who also grew up poor. She was a good cook, but other than that, your mom and mine could be the same. I will try this recipe, most definitely, but thank you, first and foremost, for a wonderful story that reminded me of my dear, beloved mother. Donna
