The large flour sifter is just like my mom's (rust and all), except that hers has a green handle. And the rotary beaters are just like her mother's, except that hers has a red handle. Both are in my kitchen and used regularly, along with my mother's rolling pin (also with green handle - maybe it & the flour sifter were shower or wedding gifts? alas, I never thought to ask). I treasure these links to my family's past, and I'm glad to see that I'm not alone. And - I was crazy enough to buy another old rolling pin at a church rummage sale this summer, because it came with a tale of its having been a wedding gift in the 30's to a woman in a nearby town. Hmmm, I might just have to give up the rolling pin I bought when I established my own household (there's still a place for my French pin) ...
