I am trying to make a chocolate buttercream that will be dark like tree bark for a woodland animal cake. The cake has a log and stump and I want the icing to be what I use not fondant. I made a few recipes but I am not getting the dark color. I used hersheys cocoa and I also used a melted chocolate version. Neither had as much chocolate as your recipe. I will most likely try your recipe but I want it the right color without adding a jar of brown food coloring. Which cocoa should I use. Will hersheys work if I use your recipe where the cocoa ratio is higher? Or? thanks so much
