Baking does sound better than frying. But have you tried doing bacon on your bbq? I line my bacon on a piece of foil and curl the edges of the foil up. Then, I put it over high heat on the bbq, turn once at about 8 minutes, and come back to start watching it about 5 minutes later. The bacon is usually done within 15 minutes. I remove the bacon from the foil, leave the foil on the bbq overnight to allow the grease to become solid (except in the warmest days of the summer). The next day, I fold up the foil, grease and all, and put it in the garbage. Zero mess or smells in the house. Excellent bacon. Just don't poke a hole in your foil while you're turning the bacon.
