I cut the recipe in half. I was out of yeast, but have a fairly vigorous starter. Next time, I'd halve all the ingredients but the starter--it needed a little more vigor in the rise--and use less water. Even without the yeast, the texture and holes were still good. My husband thought they were store bought at first, they looked so pretty. Will definitely try these again. I also substituted 1.5 cups sprouted wheat flour for 1.5 cups AP flour. No problem with that.
