Making my first starter and I’m 12 hrs in. I used a seed started heating pad as its pretty cool yet here in WI. My starter was covered with a dry cloth and this morning had a dried crusty brown top on it.
I will toss that and continue feeding as directed.
My question is this, are we to stir this starter intermittently between feedings? Would this prevent drying on top?
