I had the same situation. I kept several cups of discarded starter in the fridge for a week as I didn't have time to use it but didn't want to discard it and waste it. I took them out and combined them in a large bowl. I also fed my starter, and included the discard cup with the rest of the discarded batch of starter. I fed the "discard"batch, stirred it well, covered with plastic wrap, and let it sit out overnight at room temperature. The next morning, it was bubbling, doubled, and "alive". I made two batches of muffins, pie dough, and pancakes! All came out great.
