Hi, Tammy! 70 degrees is pretty ideal for a starter. Without knowing any particular about what made your starter "lackluster" (most starters, even those that are slow to mature, will eventually work just fine, provided they don't grow mold), it's hard to help troubleshoot, but feel free to reach out to our Baker's Hotline so we can talk about it in more detail!
