I am on day 5 with my starter. I have made it in the KAF crock and, since our home is cool, have kept it in the oven with the light turned on. I have noticed that, when I remove the lid to feed it, the top looks "matte" rather than shiny/wet as I see on the website pictures. It's certainly not crusty, but I'm wondering if it's drying out or if it's ok? It smells pleasantly acidic to me.
