This is my first starter, I'm on day 3....mine looks nothing like the pictures. It's defiantly thicker and a touch darker. I can tell it's "bubbling" within the starter but no visible bubbles on top like in the pictures. I'm storing it in a clay crock with plastic wrap over it. (next feeding changing to clear glass to see if it's actually doubling in size) It has a stinky sock smell not a fruity fermented smell. Is this normal? Can i add a water next feeding to thin it out?
