Shikha, it's not unusual for your starter to lose its activity around Day 4 of the process. If it seems quite runny, feel free to add a little more flour! Mold sometimes happens with new starters, and you did the right thing that time by disposing of it and starting again. It doesn't sound like you're doing anything wrong. Just keep feeding it as outlined in our Sourdough Baking Guide, and you should be right on track for creating a successful starter.
