Hi! I've been reading and am on Day 7 of my starter. It smells lovely and is getting closer to the frothy stage.
My question -- my starter has grown quite a bit and has now almost outgrown the container. It smells lovely! I've been removing 4 oz of starter and adding 1 cup flour and 4 oz of water to the remainder left in the vessel.
What can I do to contain it? It's my first sourdough starter and I'm loving the smell, but it's growing in a quick way. I have less than an inch left from the top before it spills over. My container size is 2 quarts.
