Kayleigh, I live in a cool house, too, and I let my sourdough starter do its thing in my electric oven. I don't turn the oven on, but I do turn the light on; if I leave the light on full-time it gets to about 90°F in my oven, so I turn it on for a couple of hours, then off, then on again, so that the oven stays around 80°F or so — more or less — kind of. In other words, don't go crazy trying to make your oven 80°F, just use the light to keep it warmish, and your starter should be happy. Good luck — PJH
