Question: my starter finally became very active after almost 12 days. I keep my house relatively cold (between 68-70) and it wasn't until I bought the starter its "own" heating pad until it finally became active. Now on to the question. The main recipe says to keep 1/2 cup in the refrigerator and feed it once a week going forward.
Can you please describe this process for me:
Take starter from fridge
Add flour, water & mix
Set outside until it doubles
Discard/use 8 oz. of starter
Return remaining 1/2 cup to fridge?
The blog here, doesn't say a weekly feeding is required, please advise.
