I am currently on day 6 of my sourdough starter - I've noticed some bubbles on the top but not too many and the starter is not doubling. I have been feeding the starter twice a day for two days now (starting on day 4 instead of 3...oops). I also totally forgot about using non-chlorinated water for the first couple days but have now switched to using water from a large container that has been sitting out on my counter (hopefully non-chlorinated now). My starter is the consistency of a very thick pancake batter. Is my starter just slow to start? Any tips/thoughts appreciated!
