Usually the "rule of thumb" is to use the same ratio. So it would have been better for you to use 10:10:10. When feeding your starter you would use 4:4:4 and that should give you a cup of starter to use in a recipe with 4 oz left over to feed. Here is a blog on "Maintaining your starter": bit.ly/1t8Mj57.
