Rhonda, this starter can certainly be saved! When we refer to ounces we are talking about the weight measurement, not the liquid measurement, but this shouldn't have made much difference when it comes to water. From now on, discard all but 4 ounces of starter and feed it 4 ounces of water and 4 ounces of flour (all by weight). Your starter will quickly adjust and be bubbling up nicely in no time! Barb@KAF
