I have been baking apple pies in paper bags since I could cook and I'm 55. My grandmother was doing it for years! My mother also baked in paper bags. The recipe was handed down for 3 generations. I'm very picky about apple pie and never order it out, I know they can't compare to mine. I only eat my apple pies and everyone I cook it for loves it. I bake mine for 60 min. @ 425 and take it out of the bag the last 10 min. to brown the top. Make sure you use good heavy paper bags as the thin cheap ones well catch on fire.
