I have always wanted to try making these! Quick question: Instead of cutting off the top layer and discarding it just because it is darker, couldn't I simply invert the dark part and place it next to the first jam layer, placing the white underside on top? These look SO yummy!!! Thanks for posting directions I think even I can follow ;) Sure, you can flip the layer over if you'd like to skip cutting the top layer off. ~Amy
