I make a lot of chocolate cupcakes around here, very simple recipe but everyone loves them. When I saw this recipe I said to myself “Self, these look great”. So I tried them last week. I am afraid they were just awful. Heavy, dry and way too chocolatey. The family revolted, which hardly every happens and I dumped the whole lot. I am still in a quandary as to why; the list of ingredients looked so good. I had to make some cupcakes the “old” way so the natives were pacified. Kathy, I'm SO sorry these didn't turn out well for you!! :( I guess they're not to everyone's taste; glad you have a "tried and true" you can count on. PJH
