Hi Nadia, cheers to you for taking on the task of making a wedding cake! Italian buttercream is a wonderful choice for making a frosting that looks stunning and tastes great, but we recommend adding 1/2 cup of vegetable shortening when adding the butter. The shortening has a higher melting point, which means that it will hold up better if the cake has to sit out for a few hours (especially under warm conditions).
