Is there a difference between Demerara sugar and Turbinado sugar??? Hi Kevin, There isn't much of a difference between the two sugars, and most bakers consider them interchangable. Demerara tends to be a bit more molasses-y, and turbinado has honey tones, but in baked goods like this it would not be noticeable. ~ MaryJane
