Since our crockpot is a very large one, I believe we could do this with our electric fondue pot-it has has a temperature control setting. What temp should we use for the caramel? Hmmm, apple slices and caramel and angelfood and pound cake.... Like the direction your mind is going, AJ! I'd probably use whatever temp. is high enough to melt the caramel - no higher. Start low, and see what happens. Raise the heat if necessary. You just want it barely melting, not bubbling. Good luck - PJ
