I grew up eating Scali bread as our staple bread - used for toast with breakfast, used for sandwiches for lunch and ALWAYS with dinner to clean your plate with. I was excited to see a recipe and try it myself. As an amateur bread maker I was hesitant but I went for it and was so happy I did. The bread came out beautifully! I cut a few slices while it was still warm and brought to my parents to try (and in true Italian fashion - think of the Burrones and Everybody Loves Raymond - I only had to walk across the street). They enjoyed it just as much as I did. I love my Italian heritage was happy to be able to pay homage to it by making this myself instead of buying it at the grocery store.
