We're sorry to hear about this experience, Carmen! It could be that your leavening agent has expired, we'd recommend checking the expiration date or testing your baking powder for freshness. Another reason this might have happened is if the oven temperature was too low, or if the batter was over-mixed. Over-mixing causes large airpockets that are liable to collapse. We hope this helps for future baking adventures!
